Many of our customers still know us as a company, doing "Gebäudebegrünung" (greening buildings with plants). This designation was selected 1986, because we offered innovative products for greening roofs and facades. But at that time existed still no locally demand of roof greening. Thus resulted our specialization on greening facades and our supraregional activity. The more appropriate designation ("facade greening") considers to both.
Also "facade greening" (in other translations also "facade-planting") is somehow misleading, because we implement e.g. no soil work or planting. Up-to-date we perform greening facades with clamberers (climbing/winding plants) by information (also about creepers [upwards]), consultation, planning and manufacturing different kinds of "climbing assistances" (trellis, espaliers, other purposeful climbing constructions).

Our work shall contribute best facade-greenings as effectively as possible. For this purpose I defined:

"Facade-greening is the planned and at least controlled growth of climbers (climbing plants) on appropriate or adequately prepared fronts"!

We strive for comprehensive support of the execution and the maintenance of such plantings.

Fronts become "adequately prepared" for greening by making them climbable for twiners. Every now and then also a protection from possible effects can be necessarily, e.g. the sealing of tears and splices. The most needed preparation is the installation of devices (constructions) near the front which can support the hold of twiners. German specialists speak of

"climbing assistances"!

In my company we design and manufacture individual and adapted climbing-assistances for facade-greenings as well as free standing climbing assistances. Our products are well-known as "Polygrün climbing assistances". We apply high-quality GRP components materials, usually GRP and sometimes CFK (carbon fiber). Supplementing the use of optimal materials the quality of Polygrün climbing-assistances is based upon variety and interesting optimization possibilities. We offer necessary special designs to the buyers of our products for preferential conditions.
Solutions that comprehensively consider the situation and requirements lead to more individual results. They represent technically and optically "tailor-made suits" and in the majority they prove themselves with the time as the more economical alternative in relation to unit-qualities ("systems").

Our knowledge and our experiences form the basis for optimal facade-greenings which we desire for our customers.
In addition to our current Polygrün-folder, the Polygrün-Diashow and some functional construction and price examples obtain an impression of the versatility of our possibilities for the construction and organization of climbing assistance as basis for most different facade-greenings with climbing plants.

Therewith facade-greening develops real use, one must not only want to do it, but also must be competent in doing! As the head of the company "T. Brandwein  « facade-greening»"  I publish my special knowledges and wide experiences since ever. (Today one can read or hear parts of my publications quite often - not only in original versions or in proper citation ....) Up-to-date I work on a FAQ facade-greening. For this I ask for cooperation in form of suggestions, additions and - especially the few english speaking readers - translations.
Indeed the literature goes into the details of the most "frequently asked questions", but nowadays one looks for answers in the net or inquires directly by telephone and E-Mail. That is not always convenient (for me)...

Such time-consuming information work serves generally the quality of facade-greening in practice. Exemplary examples are the most effective means against reservations and increase the popularity of greened buildings (house-greening). Possibly that way facade-greenig soon will be more interesting also from economical perspective...

Geographical borders of our activities

We work almost only in northern Western Europe, mostly in countries, where German is spoken. With the usual project sizes journeys and transportation into more distant countries are often too expensive. Only really large projects (e.g. with container shipment) justify long distance or intercontinental supplies. Therefore we maintain our extensive Internet appearance only partly in English language. We are nevertheless interested and able to become world-wide active if this is economically possible.

We are mostly working in parts of western Europe

We offer achievements, which can contribute in nearly all climates to the perceptible improvement of the housing conditions and the quality of urban life. That applies in particular to cities in warmer and drier regions.

So far there are unfortunately sometimes difficulties - also with technology and maintenance in connection with twiners needing "climbing assistances". More frequently building owners confront me with failings on or through all kinds of climbing-constructions (mostly with wires rope) and request for help.

I try to find simple and realizable improvement suggestions. In doing so, I aspire to the important protection of grown substance. In the meantime such consultations represent a appreciable portion of my commercial activity.
Therefore I refer here to an exemplary and appropriate report: "Recommendations for enhancement considering the maintenance ..."

"Polygrün climbing assistances" are flexibly, corrosion resistant and weigh very few. They can be fastened to each front even in larger distance and they carry reliably high weights. Therefore they are particularly suitable for facades with easy damageable surfaces and/or structure.
They are used preferentially in housebuilding, in the building of trades and in the industrial building. In addition, we are available gladly for smaller projects at bricked or cleaned walls. We mostly recommend more functional climbing-mats (Polygrün-Klettermatten), which are perpendicularly strengthened with GRP pipes. They can be fastened well and inconspicuously. Their variable profile arrangement suits the need of different twiners(climbing plants) and gives them good hold. Altogether this results high quality and favourable prices.

Prices 2007

In the meantime the prices for GRP materials rise not as fast as the metal prices. In the comparison - in particular to larger climbing assistances made of high-grade steel - "Polygrün climbing assistances" become increasingly lower-priced thereby.

If you don't wish a special design we offer you functional climbing mats strengthened by GRP pipes. Frequently those are a bit more expensive than usual linear or light clamping constructions. But often our attachment technology and the simple mounting already compensates these extra costs. The most substantial cost advantage of the "Polygrün climbing assistances" results however from avoided maintenance and to minimized care expenditure.
